Hey
My name is Alex. I went to Ukraine over springbreak with my mom and Ashley Fumia. We have been writing a boy in Orphanage # 4 for around three years. We are in the process of adopting him. I will be doing fundraisers to raise money for the adoption.
When I went to Ukraine, God changed the way I look at things. In America we do not realize how good we got it. Yes we do have problems in America but the goverment in Ukraine does not care about the orphans. There are kids living on the streets. When they turn seventeen they are kicked out of the internot. They do not know how to do much because they do not have a good education. They have never worked before.
My favorite bible verse is James 1:27. In James chapter 1:22-25 it says to do what the bible says. If anyone listens to the bible but does not do what it says then it is like a man who look at himself in the mirror and forgets what he looks like. In James 1:27 it says to take care of orphans and widows. This is what God has said for us to do. When are we going to step up and do what we are supposed to? In Proverbs 31:8 it says to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. The kids in these internots do not have a voice. They are put in the internot. God has given me a boldness to stand up and speak up for these kids. I hope you will do what God has commanded and join me in praying and standing up for those who can not speak up for themselves and taking care of orphans and widows.

Hey, chica! I am so happy that God is working miracles and leading your family to adopt Alex. I had so much fun in Ukraine with you and your mom. I left a piece of my heart there with the children. I can't wait to bring Grisha and Dima home. I also hope we can find Christian families to adopt these precious children. God cares for them and commands us to as well. If we do not speak up for them, who will?
Hey Alex!
I did NOT know you guys were considering adopting. I don't know how I missed that (or is this new?). Either way, I'm so excited that you're trying to adopted. Each of these boys and girls are so precious and I know God loves them more than any of us could ever love them....even more than Lela does! That's a LOT!!!
I'm so glad God opened the door for you and your mom to go and visit Odessa. I'm SOOOO looking forward to my trip this summer!
I pray that your family will be able to adopt quickly and with no major walls blocking the way.
God bless!!!

I'm with you, Alex! I'm Debbie, Ashley's friend in Colorado. Come along and visit my blog, if you like. I'm glad you started a blog; congratulations on starting the adoption process for your brother. This is so exciting! We are praying for the situation in Ukraine. We know that when God tells us to do something (like you were mentioning in your post), we have to obey and just watch to see what He does. It may be a wild ride, but we'll all buckle our seat belts and let Him take control of the wheel! :-)
Hugs from Colorado,
Debbie
